This is the fastest method of transportation to get around Sydney. However, taking the train may not be the most scenic way to travel and nor is the train system without its lapses. For instance, taking the train is most useful when heading west, because of the area's well-developed transportation system. On the other hand, when traveling to the south shore, you may find some ill-developed routes. Also, though these trains are efficient, they are not very accommodating to tourists because they are meant for rapid transit between the city and the suburbs (most tourists just stay in the city centre).
