Once an ancient Yemeni skyscraper in all its glory, the current building of the Burj al Salam Hotel fell into disrepair over time. It was revitalized when Sana’a was declared a UNSECO heritage site. With ten years of hard work into it, the building was finally restored to the quaint but well-maintained hotel space it is today. Retaining its essential character, color, and materials, the building offers an insight into the centuries old construction techniques of the Yemeni nation, while also integrating within it the modern necessities and conveniences of a contemporary hotel.
The hotel also arranges for excursions and tours around the city. Car rental facilities available in the lobby.
The hotel contains a total of 47 rooms. Each room is lavishly designed, with intricate hand-crafted furniture and cozy lighting. Prepare for a taste of authentic Yemeni ambience.
Rooms contain single, double shared beds, and suites. All rooms come with attached baths, with hot and cold water supply. Room service is available on charge.
The hotel contains a delightful little coffee shop, which also serves local Yemeni snacks. The adjacent terrace makes an ideal place to sit and indulge in small talk with locals and other guests over breakfast or evening tea.
The hotel also has its own restaurant. Nothing extraordinary, but authentic Yemeni cuisine, with a small, mediocre variety of continental dishes.
