Winter is the last thing that comes to mind on a sweltering 45 degree afternoon in Dubai. Unless of course you happen to be at Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates, the first and largest indoor snow park in the world. This is another of Dubai's zany wonders. Enjoy five runs of varying difficulty, height, and gradient. The longest is over 400m with a 60m drop, and skis and gear are all provided. If you don't feel like skiing, there's also tobogganing, tubing, a bobsled run, and two alpine cafes. You can also simply play in the snow, or watch the action from the observation tower.
If you ski regularly, the courses here will not pose much of a challenge – the draw is simply in the novelty. For anyone else, the skiing is pretty decent. Instructors are helpful and know what they're doing. Even a first timer will be able to go out there and have fun. There's no better way to beat the heat, as temperatures are maintained at -1 to -2 degrees. This is a must for anyone visiting Dubai, especially in the summers.
