The International Istanbul Jazz Festival  held annually in July at different locations throughout Istanbul attracts all the big names in jazz. Traditional and contemporary jazz, rock, electronica and world music can be heard during this festival. Previous festivals have seen the participation of musicians such as Ray Charles, Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie.
