Health & Safety

A common problem encountered in Tunis by any tourists is teens pretending to be unofficial tour guides. They can be spotted mostly near tour sites and in alley ways and they start off by engaging in informal conversations. Later on they might ask you for favors or even borrow money. Therefore, it is best to avoid them from the start and to not engage in any conversations with such people.
Generally Tunisians are polite and courteous; however keep your guard high against the ‘too friendly’ ones.

In case of emergencies, keep the following contacts handy.
