The vibrant flavours of Bangkok have arrived in Abu Dhabi with the opening of Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche’s flagship restaurant Silk & Spice.
Taking inspiration from the Lotus Flower, which symbolises beauty, purity, majesty and grace, Silk & Spice offers a selection of pure Thai dishes that blend effortlessly to deliver a pallet pleasing menu.
Thai Chef and Thai native Pharita Sandee, was schooled in traditional Thai cooking by her mother and went on to develop her culinary craft in various five star kitchens. Most recently, Chef Sandee held the position of Thai Chef at the Grand Hyatt in Santiago, Chile. In every dish, the authentic taste of Bangkok is respected and presented with modern finishes to fuse ancient Thai tradition with present day.
The menu offers a hand-picked selection of dishes, including Chef Sandee’s signature dishes Por Pia Goong: Deep Fried Prawn Spring Roll, Hoi Shell Ob: Roasted Scallop with Spicy Pepper Sauce and Peanut and Yam Nua Yang: Spicy Thai Beef Salad. All freshly prepared with spices sourced directly from Thailand for complete authenticity.
The partnership between ancient and modern touches is also reflected in the design of the restaurant. Guests are seated in sunken tables and served the traditional way (knee-down service) by staff in Thai dress, against sleek, contemporary interiors. A mix of traditional Thai and modern lounge music adds to the ambiance and views of the Corniche provide a stunning backdrop.
Silk & Spice is the right mix of fine food in a sophisticated setting, ideal for an elegant and memorable evening out.
Silk & Spice is open 6:00pm to 1:00am every day except Sunday. For reservations please call +971 2 813 7777.
