14 June, 2012: Make Ramadan extra special this year and treat your family with an escape to the pearl white shores of Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa.
Celebrate the holy month in comfort at the GCC’s first thalassotherapy spa, which harnesses the unique healing power of sea water to aid wellbeing. Guests will receive 20 per cent off spa treatments at the Thalassa Spa until 15 August.
Replenish moisture in your skin without breaking tradition via relaxing and nourishing treatments such as the Velvet Moisturising Treatment, a body massage and acupressure facial massage which uses sea butter, algae and beeswax to soften and nourish the skin.
While parents relax in the spa, children will be entertained with a variety of activities offered by the Kids Club.
Each of the 262 rooms and suits boast stylish interiors and cutting edge technology including Sofitel’s MyBed™ concept and pillow menu, providing guests with a comfortable rest before or after Iftar. All rooms have a private balcony with stunning views of the Arabian Gulf, so you can watch the sunset from the comfort of your room before heading to the traditional Iftar buffet.
For two hours after sunset, break your fast at Saraya ‘All Day Dining’ restaurant with a buffet of Ramadan delicacies such as a selection of Oriental salads, live cooking stations including Manakeesh, Shawarma, Arabaic bread, foul and balila and falafel stations. In addition, there will be an impressive sweets station featuring mainly oriental delicacies including the favourite Um Ali.

After Iftar engage in the local custom of Ghabgah, unique to Bahrain. Ghabgah is a small meal between Iftar and Shaour and will be celebrated in an air-conditioned tent on Saraya Terrace. The ceiling of the tent will be covered by black cloth sprinkled with stars, to give the illusion of having “Ramadan under the stars” and glass sides will give an open-air feel.
A gentle soundtrack of Arabic music by local duo Majeed and Marwan will accompany games such as cards, dominos, darts to enjoy with family and friends for a memorable and elegant evening.
Rooms during Ramadan start from BD65* for single occupancy and BD75* for double occupancy per room per night and include a 20% discount for hotel guest on spa treatments. Iftar buffet is BD 15 per person or BD 14 per person for corporate rates (minimum 20 people), Ghabgah is BD 15 per person with Shisha available for an additional BD 5.
To celebrate Eid, Saraya ‘All Day Dining’ Restaurant will be offering a buffet lunch from 12:30-3:30pm, where guests can indulge in a variety of authentic Arabic dishes. A special Eid Bruch will take place on the second day of Eid from 12:30 to 4:00pm, combining the international cuisines of Saraya ‘All Day Dining’ Restaurant with Fiamma Italian restaurant and the Asian flavors of Wok.
Room rates for Eid start from BD 99** on bed and breakfast basis. Saraya Eid Buffet starts from BD 22 per person, EID Brunch starts from BD 24 per person inclusive of soft drinks and BD 28 inclusive of selected house beverages.
