Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach Shakes Up Hotel Sector

The Sofitel Dubai Jumeriah Beach hotel is set to shake up the hotel sector with its unique brand of French hospitality.   The hotel’s general manager believes the Gallic approach to life and entertaining will set his 438 room property apart from the rest.   Gilles Longuet said “It’s the only luxury hotel with the French art de vivre, art de recevoir”.  He said over time they want to be the leader among hotels in the area.

The Sofitel Dubai Jumeriah Beach hotel is one of 25 new hotels that could shake up the UAE market in the last quarter of 2009.   These new hotels added 6,900 rooms and STR Global data shows five new brands have been introduced.  The industry research firm has a list of 48 new properties set to open in Q4 but a number of projects have been delayed.
