MOSCOW: The Russian Foreign Ministry has advised Russian citizens to refrain from traveling to Japan, because of the devastating earthquake and tsunamis that affected the country last Friday.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement yesterday: "against the backdrop of massive destruction and its many victims, Russian citizens are advised to refrain from traveling to Japan for the purpose of tourism or any other personal purposes over the next few days."
