Strata Manufacturing has been named the new company at Mubadalla Development’s new aerospace plant. Mubadalla Development is an investment arm of the government. The government hopes that the new aerospace cluster at Al Ain International Airport will draw international aerospace companies because of the lower cost of labor and cheaper energy costs. Strata Manufacturing will be the flagship company at the new aerospace cluster.
The Associate Director of Mubadala’s new aerospace unit said “The plant is a crucial step for Abu Dhabi in achieving its ambition for Strata to become a Tier One supplier for the next generation of civil aircraft during the next decade and beyond.” The plant will use carbon fibre to make advanced composite aerostructures. This is an important component of next generation aircraft like the Airbus A350.
