Expert Says UAE Can Promote Medical Tourism

A health expert said the UAE has the right elements for medical tourism including health care infrastructure, service quality, and perception.   Dr. Prem Jaqyasi said the perception of a destination, value of solutions, and quality of healthcare are among the most important components necessary for brand building medical tourism. Dr. Jaqyasi is the Chief Strategic Officer at Medical Tourism Association (MAT) US, and Managing Director and CEO of ExHealth.

Dr. Jaqyasi made his comments delivering a lecture at the Fourth Annual Healthcare Expansion conference in Abu Dhabi on Monday.  He said Dubai Healthcare City and other medical institutions provide the right infrastructure and the UAE also has many leading names.  He said “The country plays an important role in driving perception of destination…..the UAE has significant capabilities primarily because of the perceptions it now enjoys.”
