Dubai Hotels RevPar Increases In Q3

Dubai hotels registered a 4.09 percent increase in average growth of revenue per available room (RevPar) in the third quarter of the current fiscal year (July-September) compared to the same period last year.  A Deloitte analysis of STR Global data for Middle East Hotels shows that there was only a slight increase in RevPar in September compared to August.  Average growth in occupancy during the third quarter of 2009 is just 1.86 percent higher  compared to the same period last year, and occupancy decreased 10.6 percent in September 2009 compared to August 2009.

Rob O’Hanlon, Tourism, Hospitality, and Leisure Partner for the Middle East said Dubai’s portfolio of international hotels is impressive, and as global confidence returns, “It is likely that Dubai will be well positioned to benefit from the changing environment.”    Year-to- date hotel occupancy in September in the Middle East is 11 percent lower than the same period last year.
