The Big Bus Company was officially launched in Abu Dhabi on Monday, although the company has been running tours for several weeks now. The Big Bus Company is an iconic symbol for London tourism and has been operating in Dubai for ten years. The red double decker bus tours major attractions in Abu Dhabi, starting at 9:00 am at Marina Hall, and ending at 5:30 pm.
The bus passes Emirates Palace, crosses the street to Shaikh Zayed Mosque, returns to the center of the city through Port Zayed, travels along the Cornish, and then returns back to Marina Mall. There are a total of eleven stops on the tour, and passengers can get on or off as they like. Tickets are valid for 24 hours Chris Crompton, General Manager for Big Bus Tours, explained “Since Shaikh Zayed Mosque is open for visitors at 9:30 am, and guided tours start at 10:00 am only, we are having two buses arriving at the mosque in time for visiting.”
