Qatar Airways to promote Western Australia

Qatar Airways has launched a $1.2 million joint tourism promotional campaign with the Government of Western Australia to coincide with the launch of the airline’s new thrice-weekly flights to Perth. 

While the Gold Coast in Eastern Australia is a favourite tourist spot for Middle East vacationers, not many people are familiar with Perth and the attractions in Western Australia. The two-year agreement between Qatar Airways and Tourism Western Australia will help to change perceptions and joint marketing activities will help to promote attractions of the state Down Under.

“I’m absolutely delighted Qatar Airways has joined forces with the Government of Western Australia to further boost international visitor numbers to this state,” said Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker. “With a large international network that spreads across The Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, Qatar Airways is well positioned to fly passengers from many parts of the world via our Doha hub to Perth and its beautiful surrounding areas."

Perth becomes Qatar Airways’ 117th destination worldwide and the airline’s seventh new route launched so far this year.
