Qatar Airways starts flights to Tokyo

April 29 - Qatar Airways’ first flight to Tokyo, Japan, from Doha landed at the Narita International Airport on Tuesday night, making this the airline’s 89th destination and the second in Japan. The carrier is already flying to the Japanese city of Osaka.
Tokyo is Qatar Airways fourth route to be launched this year. Talking about the launch of the new route, Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: "Tokyo has been a destination of choice for Qatar Airways for a very long time, and as the largest metropolitan area in the world, it represents an important feeder market into our growing international network.”
Meanwhile, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at Narita Airport to celebrate the launch of this daily flight.
