Flydubai said their talks with Indian aviation authorities continue, dismissing reports that there is a stalemate. According to reports from India, the Indian Air Force (IAF) denied the budget carrier flydubai permission to land in Chandigarh at night. IAF controls this hub and no civilian planes are allowed to land. A flydubai flight was expected to arrive in Chandigarh at about 11 pm, which is past the IAF curfew.
A flydubai spokesman said the reports are not accurate and the carrier issued a statement which said “flydubai has been granted the rights to fly to Chandigarh based on the agreement between the governments of India and the UAE” The statement explained flydubai is the first international carrier to fly to Chandigarh, so “a little more coordination is needed”.and “we do not anticipate any issues which can not be resolved.”
