Etihad Airways To Increase Abu Dhabi-Beirut Service

ImageEtihad Airways will increase its Abu Dhabi-Beirut service from twice daily flights to 18 times a week, beginning on January 10th, 2009.   Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer James Hogan said the extra four flights per week will provide passengers more connections to some of Etihad’s key destinations including its newest destination, Colombo.

Mr. Hogan said their Beirut service has been very successful with average load factors of between 80 and 90 percent on both outbound and inbound flights.  He said “In addition to the strong demand for flights from Lebanese nationals who work in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, we are seeing a strengthening in corporate and leisure traffic across our network.”  He said the demand for flights between Beirut and Colombo has been very strong, and the new services will help meet that demand.
