US aircraft manufacturer Boeing will open its service centre in Doha, Qatar, that will provide facilities to both civilian and military clients. “We want to team up with Qatar and our new office would add value to our partnership,” Boeing Military Aircraft President Chris Chadwick said. However, Chadwick did not reveal further details about the project citing security concerns as a reason.
Qatar is the first Middle Eastern customer for Boeing’s C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft, two of which were delivered last year. The UAE followed suit and signed a deal with the US giant to buy six C-17s in January.
