Amadeus announced yesterday they partnered with Syrian Arab Airlines to launch their operations in Syria. Amadeus is the global leader for technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry. Amadeus has been active in Syria over the past five years with partners. Amadeus market share of Syrian travel agency reservation distribution increased 25% to 73% this year. The general manager for Amadeus Syria said they will aim to deliver a cost effective value structure to travel agents in Syria using the best available technology.
The partnership will benefit Amadeus because it will extend its reach among travel agents in Syria, and travel agents will benefit from Amadeus' vast portfolio of global distribution solutions and also have easy access to airline content.
