Activities range from an array of masquerade sessions to food festivals, drinking, singing, and dances. The main event, marking the final departure of winter and the arrival of spring, is a merry procession through the city streets, starting at the Bridge of Bergues at midday, and, continuing throughout the city, ending at midnight, when the citizens give a massive roar of goodbye to the winter season.
