Located next to the Royal Palace at the Gamla Stan is the ‘feminine and romantic’ Lady Hamilton Hotel, truly a treat to live in. The building that now houses the hotel is a 1470’s structure from the times of Sten Sture the Elder, complete with a 15th century well which is now used as a plunge pool for guests to cool off after a sauna. The rich history of the hotel means that it boasts of an amazing collection of Swedish peasant style antiques which adorn both the common areas and the rooms. The hotel has single, double, corner, courtyard and queen rooms, each decorated with beautiful wall paintings and fitted with floor heating, en suite bathrooms and even heated towel rails!
The hotel boasts of the Michelin awarded Leijontornet restaurant housed in the medieval cellar of the sister hotel, Lord Nelson, which serves innovative and organic Nordic cuisine. The hotel also offers guided tours of the city, notable among which is the Ghost Tour and the Guarded Roof Top Tour of the Old Town.
