Pakistan Day-23 March
23rd March 1940 was the day that the Pakistan Declaration was proclaimed to the Muslims of India at a large gathering. It was presided over by many of the founding fathers of the nations. This day marks the anniversary of that Declaration for a separate homeland. It is celebrated to honor the ideologies of our forefathers and their relentless and persevered efforts in fighting for a separate Muslim homeland. Lahore is the city where most of the celebrations usually take place, as it contains the Minar-e-Pakistan, a monument constructed in remembrance of the Declaration, but there are quite a few celebrations throughout Karachi as well. Local schools arrange patriotic functions, and government buildings in the city are decorated with lights that add to the pleasure of a night-time cruise through the city.
