Bonn Visak Bochea

This is one of the very significant festivals of Cambodia, celebrated by every person in the country. Bonn Visak Bochea signifies the birth, enlightenment, and death of the God Buddha. It happens during the sixth full moon of the lunar calendar for one day only, usually in mid-May. A cortege of people with lit candles, sermons, and religious chanting is a part of its commemoration.
