The Palermo Gardens (Bosques de Palermo)
The (Bosques de Palermo) are beautifully situated and maintained and are worth a walk though. It contains a huge variety of native Argentine trees and flowering plants as well as three artificial lakes and some historical monuments. It is a good place for a rest from the rush of the big city. Jogging and bike-riding facilities are available and hiring a pedal or row boat can be a treat for the kids.
This lush area also houses the Palermo Rose garden. Visit between September and March to see over one thousand species of roses in bloom. Some theatre productions and concerts take place here as well. The Argentine polo fields, the planetarium and the Japanese Garden are also in this vicinity (next to the Plaza Sicilia).
